UK Equalities Leader Secretly Moved To Destroy Trans Rights

Liz Truss, the woman appointed to the role of the UK’s Equality Minister by Boris Johnson, secretly used her anti-allies that she appointed to lead the Equality and Human Rights Commission to erase transgender rights and protections from law.

In one of the most shocking and terrifying revelations to come out of Parliament, journalist Ben Hunte revealed today that the figureheads Liz Truss appointed to head up the EHRC, a taxpayer funded organization that ensures the protection of minorities, including LGBTQ people, across the country, are not compromised by acts of hate and discrimination.

That Liz Truss was appointed by Boris Johnson to oversee the EHRC was immediately concerning given her history of making transphobic statements and anti-trans gestures when unable to dodge having to address the issues involving the community directly. Many trans people across the UK felt the appointment of Liz Truss in a role intended to preserve the integrity of equality was similar to making David Duke the Dean of a Historically Black College. Given her vocal and evident prejudices, she would be incapable of acting her capacity without being influenced by her own bigotry.

And they were right.

Truss wasted no time appointing Baroness Kishwer Falkner as the Chair of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission. Baroness Falkner is no stranger to rubbing elbows with extremist organizations, such as LGB Alliance- who have aimed to eliminate transgender women from public, social spaces and accused the community of being homosexuals who have undergone conversion therapy- and radical feminists who routinely campaign against the inclusion of transgender people in everything from pride events to gender affirming medical healthcare. As Liz Truss’s right hand in the EHRC, Baroness Falkner feted high profile anti-trans antagonists who have made a profitable career from terrorizing transgender people both online and in society, entertaining them for meetings, requesting presentations aimed at influencing other members of the council to join the crusade to exclude trans people from legal protections, and leant support to anti-trans legal cases, including one that took aim at trans youth and the ability to self-ID, and another featuring Maya Forstater, who wished to have her…
