Truth Social Is Building An Army For Donald Trump
Truth Social, the social media app created by Donald Trump and his allies to circumvent his ban from other major platforms, has become a national security threat.
I joined Donald Trump’s Truth Social out of morbid curiosity. I knew going in that it would be full of white nationalists and bigots spoon feeding each other raw, unfiltered hatred. Those expectations were met and exceeded. What I saw was truly horrifying.
To get an accurate picture of what exactly occurs on the far right app, which Trump established to compete with other extremist apps like Gettr and Parlor in 2020 and exploit the venom his followers wanted to spew without the threat of recompense, one only has to look back at the Nazi pride of the 1940’s in Germany. With unearned confidence, users of the platform spread alarmist propaganda ranging from stolen elections to democrats running a child sex trafficking ring and participating in deadly, satanic rituals. Scrolling through the timeline is like experiencing an alternate reality in which Trump is a martyred King and they are his loyal servants looking to obtain revenge against his sworn enemies- their fellow Americans.
