The Uncomfortable Britney Spears Talk We’re Avoiding
As much as fans want her to be well, perhaps the time has come for us to consider that maybe, just maybe, she’s not as well as we want her to be.
For a few years I’ve been casually following the tragic Britney Spears saga that has unfolded before the eyes of the world. Like countless others, I too posted in solidarity with the American Music Icon last June.
While I have never been what one might classify as a fan of the superstar, I have enjoyed her music. I remember her fondly on the 90’s Disney series Kids Incorporated, but I wanted to be Martika. However, as Britney aged into the industry and became an international pop sensation, it was impossible to remain unaware of the woman and stand in awe of her talent.
I remember the red flags; They were present long before her sudden, 55-hour long marriage or the infamous moment she shaved her head in a down-trodden hair salon in Tarzana.
