Watching the saga unfold around Meghan Markle that culminated in the powerful Netflix Documentary Harry & Meghan revealed many jarring realities about the world of the royals and the manipulation of the media to lead people to extremely specific, deeply seated beliefs and opinions, but what I had not expected was how easy it would be for a nefarious figure to succeed in that mission so overwhelmingly.
Less than 100 twitter participants managed to acquiesce a combined 73 million follower-strong reach to simply achieve the goal of smearing Meghan Markle and stoke a culture war and racial divide that would not just paralyze an entire nation, but destroy the spirit of a good human being to the point that suicide was considered an option.
