Right Wing Activist Ben Shapiro Accused of Organizing Violence Against Seattle’s CHOP Community

In the wake of the protests that have erupted across the United States in response to the murder of George Floyd by police, protesters in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood conducted an occupation, setting up residence and declaring it an autonomous zone.

Journalists that have been allowed inside the area, spanning seven blocks, have reported that it has become a hallowed ground of independence. The residents are peaceful, conducting meditation classes, walking dogs, feeding each other, providing mutual support and necessary supplies within the barriers that separate them from the outside world. The community leaders have set up multiple 24-hour live surveillance streams to ensure the safety of those who live there, as well as to protect the integrity of the perimeter from dangerous counter-protesters that have retaliated with violence against the autonomous society.

In the past week, CHOP has fallen victim to multiple instances of gun related violence leaving one man dead and several injured.
