Since Elon Musk got wine drunk and blew 44 Billion dollars buying the worlds largest town square, he’s used it to target his political opposition, personal adversaries and personal enemies. So, how did the entire transgender community find themselves on the end of Musk’s freshly sharpened pike, exposed to daily rhetoric and hate campaigns instigated against them by the most powerful influencer on earth? His wife left him for a transwoman.

Indeed, the torrent of hate he’s deliberately unleashed on the trans community by first lifting the bans of the most vile, violent and dangerous antagonists on twitter is somewhat an act of revenge. An opportunity to torment trans people by proxy, knowing they want to be a part of the larger global dialog. Many trans people have been there since the start, some 15 years ago, have friends, family and colleagues attached to their accounts. Twitter is hard to extract from in the era of digital communication, when over 450 million people use it. It is one of the most culturally embedded online tools that has ever existed- and once Musk got his hands on it, he fired anyone with a conscience; Anyone that might challenge his caustic behavior, and began a rapid fire assault on anyone he disliked, including an account that used to track his private plane. While Musk is fine with people being doxxed, harassed, threatened and even stalked claiming it all just boils down to “Free Speech” the same freedoms don’t apply if it concerns him specifically.

The Tesla founder invited back the dangerous antagonists once permanently banned explicitly so they could pick up where they left off, prior to being removed for breaking the terms of service. Within a day, use of racial slurs, attacks on gay and trans people, anti-semitic sentiments, misogynist fanatics and other abusive language and behaviors not tolerated elsewhere amplified some 60%. With a week of Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and his great unbanning of fractious figures, anti-black words- specifically the N word was found to increase three fold as white supremacists targeted the black community.
