A&E Terrifies Viewers With Shocking Reality Show ‘Adults Adopting Adults’

Their is certainly no shortage of shocking reality shows that have made their way into mainstream culture. From “Teen Mom” to “Sister Wives” most viewers of the genre believed they had seen it all until the A&E Network waded into the waters of the reality frenzy with their new series “Adults Adopting Adults.”

One could easily presume the title alone gives the premise of the show away, and to an extent it certainly does. It centers adults, often seniors who are undergoing the process of legally adopting a younger adult for a variety of reasons. One lady wants to find a substitute for her estranged Mother so that her children have grandparents; Another older couple plans on adopting a woman who explicitly declares that her primary motivation is financial security.

But the storyline that has sent internet denizens to social media in utter horror is that of Danny and Christy Huff of Chillicothe, Ohio. Danny, who is 59, met Iliana, a 20 year old homeless pregnant woman from Austria on the internet and began an independent relationship with her. Although Danny’s Wife, Christy, confesses that he had been a chronic cheater in the past, she has begrudgingly gone along with his discomforting desire to adopt the young woman and…
